Fat Bottomed Girls

Track 2. Written by Brian May. Length 4:15.
The single version appears on the UK 'Greatest Hits' album, while the album version appears on the 1992 US equivalent and 'Queen Rocks'.
The 1994 EMI Remaster, the 'Queen Rocks' album, and the 'Let Me Live' single all feature the track with a loud 'pop' noise at the start, but are otherwise identical.
Details are also available of the 'Greatest Video Hits I' surround sound mix.

Alternate Versions:
1. Single Version (3:22) (on the single, the 'We Are The Champions' 3" CD, the 'Greatest Hits' album, the 2011 double disc reissue, and in the 'Queen Singles Collection 1' boxed set; this loses instrumental sections from 0:21-0:37 and 1:08 to 1:29, and fades out from 3:36 to 3:59. The lyrics are identical to album version except it loses the 'wow')
2. 'Greatest Flix' Edit (3:04) (on the 'Greatest Flix' video only; this is the normal single version but with an earlier fade out)
3. US 'Greatest Hits' Edit (3:14) (on the US 1992 'Greatest Hits' video only; this is also the normal single version, which ends with the finale from the album version)
4. 'Greatest Karaoke Hits' Edit (3:12) (on the 'Greatest Karaoke Hits' 2004 DVD only; this is an edit of the single version, which fades out earlier)
5. Instrumental Version (3:12) (on the 'Greatest Karaoke Hits' CD, DVD and video; an instrumental version of the above edit, retaining some backing vocals)
6. Hollywood Records Remix (4:21) (on the US remaster only; a slightly reworked version, with different outro vocals)
7. OK Mix AKA Organized Konfusion Mix (3:55) (on the 'Basic Queen Bootlegs' US promo CD; a good remix which features new music, with rap sections, but also features a different vocal take by Freddie)
8. 'Greatest Video Hits I' Version (3:38) (on the DVD only; this is the single version without the fade at the end, continuing instead as the album version)
9. 'Queen Rocks' Video Version (3:15) (on the video only; this is the single version upto 3:10, without the fade, but instead has the album version drum finale, from 4:11 onwards; it seems this version may be on the US 'Greatest Hits' video as well)
10. 'Greatest Flix I & II' Video-CD Edit (3:03) (apparently this is the single version, which fades in during the first vocal, and fades out earlier than normal)
11. 'Bicycle Race/Fat Bottomed Girls' Promo Version (6:11) (on a US 12" promo only; this features 'Bicycle Race', which is slightly edited, followed by the single version of 'Fat Bottomed Girls', as a single track)
12. 'Fat Bottomed Girls/Bicycle Race' Promo Version (6:10) (on a US 12" promo only; this features the single version of 'Fat Bottomed Girls', which is slightly edited, followed by 'Bicycle Race', as a single track)
13. Rock Band Video Game Version (3:13) (available as part of the 'Queen 01' download only; this is the same as the single version up to 3:10, without starting to fade, which then jumps to the album version from 4:11 onwards)

Lyrics: (the single version loses the 'wow'; the Rock Band version loses the 'wow' and the very last line)
Oh, you gonna take me home tonight
Oh, down beside that red fire light
Oh, you gonna let it all hang out
Fat bottomed girls
You make the rocking world go round

Hey
I was just a skinny lad
Never knew no good from bad
But I knew life before I left my nursery, huh
Left alone with big fat fanny
She was such a naughty nanny
Heap big woman, you made a bad boy out of me
Hey, hey

Wow

I've been singing with my band
Across the water across the land
I've seen every blue eyed floozy on the way, hey
But their beauty and their style
Wear kind of smooth after a while
Take me to them dirty ladies every time
Come on

Oh, won't you take me home tonight
Oh, down beside your red fire light
Oh, and you give it all you got
Fat bottomed girls
You make the rocking world go round
Fat bottomed girls
You make the rocking world go round

Hey, listen here
Now I've got mortgages on homes
I've got stiffness in my bones
Ain't no beauty queens in this locality
I tell you
Hope that I still get my pleasure
Still got my greatest treasure
Heap big woman you gonna make a big man of me
Now get this

Oh, I know, you gonna take me home tonight, please
Oh, down beside that red fire light
Oh, you gonna let it all hang out
Fat bottomed girls
You make the rocking world go round, yeah
Fat bottomed girls
You make the rocking world go round

Get on your bikes and ride

Oooh, yeah, oh yeah
Them fat bottomed girls
They get me (fat bottomed girls)
Yeah, yeah, yeah

Alright, ride 'em cowboy
Fat bottomed girls
Yes, yes

Jealousy

Track 3. Written by Freddie Mercury. Length 3:13.
Details are also available of an unreleased instrumental take.

Alternate Versions:
1. 2011 Version (3:13) (available on the 2011 album reissue, and 'Deep Cuts Volume 2'; this is identical to the album version, but features a new bass drum track, which was accidentally left out of the original album mix. However, it is still very similar to the original mix)
Lyrics:
Oh, how wrong can you be?
Oh to fall in love
Was my very first mistake
How was I to know
I was far too much in love to see, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

Jealousy, look at me now
Jealousy, you got me somehow
You gave me no warning
Took me by surprise
Jealousy, you led me on

You couldn't lose
You couldn't fail
You had suspicion on my trail
How, how, how, oh my jealousy
I wasn't man enough
To let you hurt my pride
Now I'm only left with my own jealousy

Oh how strong can you be
With matters of the heart
Life is much too short
To while away with tears
If only you could see
Just what you do to me (oh jealousy)

Jealousy, you tripped me up
Jealousy, you brought me down
You bring me sorrow
You cause me pain
Jealousy, when will you let go

Gotta hold of my possessive mind
Turned me into a jealous kind
How, how, how, oh my jealousy
I wasn't man enough
To let you hurt my pride
Now I'm only left with my own jealousy

But now it matters not
If I should live or die
'Cos I'm only left with my own jealousy

Bicycle Race

2. Hollywood Records Remix (4:57) (on the US remaster CD only; a dance remix, which retains only the vocals)
3. Karaoke Version (2:59) (on the 'Greatest Karaoke Hits' CD, DVD and video; retains some backing vocals)

Lyrics:
Bicycle, bicycle, bicycle

I want to ride my bicycle
I want to ride my bike
I want to ride my bicycle
I want to ride it where I like

You say black, I say white
You say bark, I say bite
You say shark, I say hey man
Jaws was never my scene
And I don't like Star Wars

You say Rolls, I say Royce
You say God, give me a choice
You say Lord, I say Christ
I don't believe in Peter Pan
Frankenstein or Superman
All I wanna do is

Bicycle, bicycle, bicycle
I want to ride my
Bicycle, bicycle, bicycle
I want to ride my bicycle
I want to ride my bike
I want to ride my bicycle
I want to ride my

Bicycle races are coming your way
So forget all your duties oh yeah
Fat bottomed girls they'll be riding today
So look out for those beauties oh yeah
On your marks
Get set
Go!

Bicycle race, bicycle race, bicycle race

Bicycle, bicycle, bicycle
I want to ride my
Bicycle, bicycle
Bicycle, bicycle, bicycle, (I want a) bicycle race

Hey
You say coke, I say cane
You say John, I say Wayne
Hot dog, I say cool it man
I don't want to be the president of America

You say smile, I say cheese
Cartier, I say please
Income tax, I say Jesus
I don't want to be a candidate
For Vietnam or Watergate
'Cos all I wanna do is

Bicycle (yeah), bicycle (yeah), bicycle
I want to ride my
Bicycle, bicycle, (come on) bicycle
I want to ride my bicycle
I want to ride my bike
I want to ride my bicycle
I want to ride it where I like

If You Can't Beat Them

Track 5. Written by John Deacon. Length 4:15.
Lyrics:
Keep your chin up when you're feeling lonely
Don't let 'em get you down
Ain't no use in you sitting all alone
Hanging around
For someone to call
Oooh, they won't come knocking at all
Don't run and hide
Even if it hurts you inside
So I said
Give as good as you get, yeah

If you can't beat 'em join 'em
You'd better do it 'cos it makes you feel good
If you can't beat 'em join 'em
You're never gonna help yourself, yeah

Come on go, get up, hey, hey
Sure feels good

Keep your big hands off my money
Don't try and pull me down
You're taking me out to wine and dine me
Trying to wind me round and around
And bind me to your legal contract, ha, ha
Rumour has it that you can play it dirty
I'll tell you what I'll do about that, that yeah
I'll play them at their own game, yeah

If you can't beat 'em join 'em
You'd better do it 'cos it makes you feel good
If you can't beat 'em join 'em
You're never gonna help yourself, yeah

That's good
Play it again

If you can't beat 'em join 'em
Ooh, you'd better do it 'cos it makes you feel good
If you can't beat 'em join 'em
It's everyone for themselves

Move on out, hey

Oh, thank you
Let rock and roll win
Yeah, woo-hoo

Let Me Entertain You

Dead On Time

Track 7. Written by Brian May. Length 3:23.
Lyrics:
Ooooh, eh

Fool, always jumping never happy where you land, hey
Fool, got no business take your living where you can, hey
Hurry down the highway
Hurry down the road
Hurry passing people staring
Hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry

Leave on time, leave on time
Never got your ticket but you leave on time
Leave on time, leave on time
Gonna get your ticket but you leave on time
Leave on time, leave on time
Put it in your pocket but you never can tell

Leave on time, leave on time
Shake that rattle, gotta leave on time
Leave on time, leave on time
Fight your battle but you leave on time
Leave on time, leave on time
You never got a minute
No you never got a minute
No you never know it
Oh, no matter

Fool, got no business hanging round and telling lies
Fool, you got no reason but you got no compromise, hey
Stamping on the ceiling
Hammering on the walls
Gotta get out, gotta get out, gotta get
Oh you know I'm going crazy

Leave on time, leave on time
Gotta get ahead but you leave on time
Leave on time, leave on time
Gotta head on ahead gotta leave on time
Leave on time, leave on time
You're running in the red but you never can tell

Wow, hey, hey
Oooh, oooh yeah

Hey, hey, honey, honey
Gotta get late
Where's my money
Where's my money
You wanna get playing
You wanna get playing
Leave your, leave your, leave your
Oh

Leave on time, leave on time
Gotta get rich gotta leave on time
Leave on time, leave on time
But you can't take it with you
When you leave on time
Leave on time, leave on time
Gotta keep yourself alive but you leave on time
But you leave on time, leave on time
Dead on time

You're dead

In Only Seven Days

Track 8. Written by John Deacon. Length 2:29.
Lyrics:
Monday
Start of my holiday
Freedom for just one week
Feels good to get away
Ooooh, ooooh

Tuesday
Saw her down on the beach
I stood and watched a while
She looked and smiled at me

Wednesday
I didn't see her
I hoped that she'd be back tomorrow

And then on Thursday
My luck had changed
She stood there all alone
I went and asked her name
I never thought that this could happen to me
In only seven days
It would take a hundred or more
For memories to fade

I wish Friday
Would last forever
I held her close to me
I couldn't bear to leave her there

Saturday
Just twenty four hours
Oh no
I'm going back home on Sunday

I'm so sad
Alone

Dreamer's Ball

Track 9. Written by Brian May. Length 3:29.
Alternate Versions:
1. Early Acoustic Take, August 1978 (3:38) (available on the 2011 double disc reissue only; this features Freddie, Brian and Roger, and is a much simpler track)
Live Versions:
1. Live Killers (3:33) (possibly recorded in Lyon, France, on 17 February 1979, and at an unknown venue)
2. Paris 1979, Third Night (4:00) (recorded at the Pavilion De Paris, France, on 1 March 1979; available as a streaming video as part of the 'Absolute Greatest' release)

Lyrics:
Oh, I used to be your baby
Used to be your pride and joy
You used to take me dancing
Just like any other boy
But now you've found another partner
You left me like a broken toy

Oh, it's someone else you're taking
Someone else you're playing to
Honey, though I'm aching
Know just what I have to do
If I can't have you when I'm waking
I'll go to sleep and dream I'm with you

Oh, take me, take me
Take me to the dreamer's ball
Um, I'll be right on time
And I'll dress so fine
You're gonna love me when you see me
I won't have to worry
Take me, take me
Promise not to wake me 'til it's morning
Oooh, it's all been true

What'd you say about that hey honey?
You gonna take me to that dreamer's ball
I'd like that

Right on that 42nd street
Way down downtown dreamer's town

Oh, take me, take me
Take me I'm your play thing now
Make my life worthwhile
With the slightest smile
Or destroy me with the barely
Perceptible whisper
Gently take me
Remember I'll be dreaming of my baby
At the dreamer's ball

Oh, take me, hold me
Remember what you told me
You'd meet me at the dreamer's ball
Meet you at the dreamer's ball

Fun It

Track 10. Written by Roger Taylor. Length 3:29.
Roger Taylor sings most lead vocals.

Lyrics:
Everybody
In the morning
Should do a good time
Alright

Everybody
In the night time
Should have a good time
All night

Now we
Gotta movement
Don't shun it
Fun it

Can't you see
Now you're moving free
Get some fun
Join our dynasty
Can't you tell
When we get it down
You're the one
You're the best in town

Hey, everybody, everybody gonna have a good time tonight
Just shaking the soles of your feet
Everybody, everybody gonna have a good time tonight
That's the only soul you'll ever meet

They say that moving the body is jive
It's alright
That's the only one part of being alive
Alright, alright

Groove on out
Groove on up, OK
Do your thing
Do your thing your way
Get your kicks
Get your tricks with me
Get up and dance honey
Fun's for free

Everybody, everybody gonna have a good time tonight
Just shaking the soles of your feet
Everybody gonna have a good time tonight
Time tonight, time tonight
It's the only soul you'll ever meet

Don't shun it - fun it
Don't shun it - fun it

Don't shun it - fun it

Leaving Home Ain't Easy

Track 11. Written by Brian May. Length 3:15.
Brian May sings lead vocals, including the 'female' vocal in the middle of the song, by recording with the tape running slowly.

Lyrics:
I take a step outside
And I breathe the air
And I slam the door
And I'm on my way
I won't lay no blame
I won't call you names
'Cos I've made my break
And I won't look back
I've turned my back
On those endless games

I'm all through with ties
I'm all tired with tears
I'm a happy man
Don't it look that way
Shake the dust from my shoes
There's a road ahead
And there's no way back home (no way back home)
Oh, but I have to say

Leaving home ain't easy
Oh, I never thought it would be easy
Leaving on your own
Oh, there's a million things a calling me back
Leaving home ain't easy
On the one you're leaving home

Stay my love
My love please stay
Don't stray my love
What's wrong my love
What's right my love, oooh

Leaving home ain't easy
Oh God, how could I think of leaving
Leaving on your own
Still trying to persuade me that
Leaving home ain't necessarily
The only way

Leaving home ain't easy
But may be the only way

Don't Stop Me Now

Track 12. Written by Freddie Mercury. Length 3:30.
Nine stems of the track (see below) were made available to download in November 2011 as part of a remix competition. Each one contains a different instrument or vocal track, but with a small amount of leakage from other instruments.
Details are also available of the 'Greatest Video Hits I' surround sound mix.

Alternate Versions:
1. With Long Lost Guitars (3:33) (available on the 2011 double disc reissue only; this is essentially the same as the album version, but with a different guitar track; it features a different, but similar, guitar solo, and lots more guitar throughout the track)
2. 'Greatest Karaoke Hits' Edit (3:25) (on the 'Greatest Karaoke Hits' DVD only; this is a slight edit which fades out earlier)
3. Instrumental Version (3:25) (on the 'Greatest Karaoke Hits' CD, DVD and video, and on the 'Artist Karaoke Series' US CD; an instrumental version of the above edit, retaining some backing vocals)

Lyrics: (click here for the lyrics to the lead vocal, backing vocal and piano stems)
Tonight I'm gonna have myself
A real good time
I feel alive

And the world I'll turn it inside out, yeah
I'm floating around in ecstasy
So

Don't stop me now
Don't stop me
'Cos I'm having a good time
Having a good time

I'm a shooting star leaping through the sky
Like a tiger defying the laws of gravity
I'm a racing car passing by like Lady Godiva
I'm gonna go, go, go there's no stopping me
I'm burning through the sky yeah
200 degrees that's why they call me Mr. Fahrenheit
I'm travelling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic man out of you

Don't stop me now
I'm having such a good time
I'm having a ball
Don't stop me now
If you wanna have a good time
Just give me a call
Don't stop me now
'Cos I'm having a good time
Don't stop me now
Yes, I'm having a good time
I don't wanna stop at all, yeah

I'm a rocket ship on my way to Mars
On a collision course
I am a satellite
I'm out of control
I'm a sex machine ready to reload
Like an atom bomb about to oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, explode
I'm burning through the sky, yeah
200 degrees that's why they call me Mr. Fahrenheit
I'm travelling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic woman of you

Don't stop me, don't stop me, don't stop me, hey, hey, hey
Don't stop me, don't stop me, oo, oo, oo, I like it
Don't stop me, don't stop me, alright
Have a good time, good time
Don't stop me, don't stop me, oooh
Oohh, let loose honey
Alright

Ooh, burning through the sky, yeah
200 degrees that's why they call me Mr. Fahrenheit
Hey, travelling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic man out of you, yeah, yeah

Don't stop me now
I'm having such a good time
I'm having a ball
Don't stop me now
If you wanna have a good time, alright
Just give me a call
Don't stop me now
'Cos I'm having a good time, yeah, yeah
Don't stop me now
Yes, I'm having a good time
I don't wanna stop at all

Lyrics: (lyrics in red are excerpts of other album tracks)
If you're feeling tired and only
Uninspired and lonely
If your
Thinking how the days seem long
All you're given
Is what you've been given
A thousand times before

Just more, more, more
Of that jazz
More, no more
Of that jazz
Gimme no more
No more of that jazz

Huh, only football
Gives us thrills
Rock and roll just
Pays the bills
Only our team
Is the real team

Bring out the dogs
Get on your feet
Lie on the floor
Can't help think I've heard that line before

Just more
More, of that jazz
More, no more, of that jazz
Gimme no more
No more of that jazz

Oh no matter
Fool got no business hanging round and telling lies
Bicycle races are coming your way
If you can't beat 'em join 'em
Fun it
Oh, you gonna let it all hang out
Fat bottomed girls you make the rocking world go round

No more
No more
No more

Of that jazz
