You Take My Breath Away

Recorded in Hyde Park, London, England, on 18 September 1976. Length 2:46.
This track is only available on the 'A Day At The Races' 2011 double disc reissue.
This track features just Freddie on the piano, with no accompaniment from the rest of the band.
Details of the original version can be found on the 'A Day At The Races' album page.

Lyrics:
Freddie: Right now, I'm gonna do a, pretty special song, this a new song from our forthcoming album, it hasn't quite been recorded yet, anyway, it's a song called 'You Take My Breath Away'. You've got to listen to this one.

Look into my eyes and you'll see
I'm the only one
You've captured my love
Stolen my heart
Changed my life

Everytime you make a move
You destroy my mind
And the way you touch
I lose control and shiver deep inside
You take my breath away

You can reduce me to tears
With a single sigh
Every breath that you take
Any sound that you make
Is a whisper in my ear

I would give up all my life for just one kiss
I would surely die
If you dismiss me from your love
You take my breath away

So please don't go
Don't leave me here all by myself
I get ever so lonely from time to time
I will find you
Anywhere you go
I'll be right behind you
Right until the ends of the earth
I'll get no sleep till I find you
To tell you when I've found you
I love you

'39

Recorded at Earl's Court, London, England, on 7 June 1977. Length 3:11.
This track is only available on the 'A Night At The Opera' 2011 double disc reissue.
Brian performs a short guitar warm-up before the track, which is not included in the above time.
Details of the original version can be found on the 'A Night At The Opera' album page.

Lyrics:
Brian: This has nothing to do with the next song, which is called '39'
Freddie: Come on, everybody

In the year of '39 assembled here the volunteers
In the days when lands were few
And the ship sailed out into the blue and misty morn
Sweetest sight ever seen

And the night followed day
And the story tellers say
The score brave souls inside
For so many a lonely day sailed across the milky seas
Ne'er looked back, never feared, never cried

Don't you hear my call though you're many years away
Don't you hear me calling you
Write your letters in the sand
For the day I take your hand
In the land that our grandchildren knew

Ahh, ah, ah, ahh
Ahh, ah, ahh, ah, ah, ahh
Ahh, ah, ahhh, ah, ahh, ahhh, ah
Ahh, ah, ah, ahh, ah
Ahh, ah, ah, ah, ahhhh

In the year of '39 simple ship came from the blue
The volunteers came home that day
And they bring good news from a world so newly born
Though their hearts so heavenly weigh
Now the earth is old and grey, to a new home we'll away
But my love this cannot be
For so many years have gone, now I'm older but a year
Your mothers eyes from her eyes cry to me

Don't you hear my call though you're many years away
Don't you hear me calling you
Write your letters in the sand
For the day I take your hand
In the land that our grandchildren knew

Everybody
Don't you hear my call though you're many years away
Don't you hear me calling you
All your letters in the sand
Cannot heal me like your hand
All my life still ahead - pity me

Ahh, ah, ah
Alright

This track was released as a bonus streaming video as part of the 'Absolute Greatest' release in 2009, and as a bonus video on the 'A Day At The Races' 2011 iTunes LP, without Freddie's dialogue.

Details of the original version can be found on the 'A Day At The Races' album page.

Lyrics:
Freddie: ...Because I can't. OK, before we ah, tease you with a bit of, sort of, heavy rock and roll things towards the end, ah, I'd just like to slip in a little a, well I'd like you to listen carefully to a simple little song this, is me on the piano, it's called 'You Take My Breath Away'

Look into my eyes and you'll see
I am the only one
You've captured my heart
Stolen my love
Changed my life

Everytime you make a move
You destroy my mind
And the way you touch
I lose control and shiver deep inside

Good Old Fashioned Loverboy

Recorded in July 1977 on the BBC television programme 'Top Of The Pops', presumably in London. Length 2:49.
This track appears as a video on the 'Greatest Video Hits' DVD, and as an audio track (in mono) on the 'A Day At The Races' 2011 double disc reissue.
This version is slightly faster and heavier than normal, with some alternate lyrics, and Roger sings some vocals.
Details of the original version can be found on the 'A Day At The Races' album page.

Lyrics:
I can dim the lights and sing you songs full of sad things
We can do the tango just for two
I can serenade and gently play on your heart strings
Be your Valentino just for you

Ooh love, ooh loverboy
What you doing tonight (oooh, hey boy)
Set my alarm, turn on my charm
That's because I'm a good old fashioned loverboy

Ooh, let me feel your heartbeat (grow faster, faster)
(Ooh) can you feel my love heat
Come on and sit on my hot seat of love
And tell me how do you feel right after all
I'd like for you and I to go romancing
Say the word, your wish is my command

Ooh love, ooh loverboy
What you doing tonight (ooh, hey boy)
Write my letter
Feel much better
And use that fancy patter on the telephone, yeah

When I'm not with you
Think of you always
I miss you
When I'm not with you
Think of me always
I love you, love you

Hey boy, where do you get it from?
Hey boy, where did you go?
I learned my passion
In the good old fashioned school of loverboys, yeah

Dining at the Ritz we'll meet at nine precisely (one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine o'clock)
I will pay the bill, you taste the wine
Driving back in style in my saloon will do quite nicely
Take me back to yours that will be fine
Come on and get it

Ooh love, ooh loverboy
What're you doing tonight, ooh hey boy
Everything's all right
Just hold on tight
That's because I'm a good old fashioned, fashioned
Lover boy

Sleeping On The Sidewalk

Probably recorded at the Cumberland County Civic Center, Portland, USA, on 11 November 1977. Track length 3:51, song length 3:30.
This track is available in the 'News Of The World' 40th anniversary boxed set, on the 'Raw Sessions' disc. It is simply described as 'Live in the USA, 1977'. The track is only known to have been performed at a single show in Portland, so almost certainly comes from there.
Freddie sings lead vocals, while Brian sings lead vocals on the album version.
Details of the original version can be found on the 'News Of The World' album page.

Lyrics:
Freddie: OK, we'd like to ah, carry on the show with ah, two new numbers from the 'News Of The World' album, the first one's written by Brian, it's called 'Sleeping On The Sidewalk'

I was nothing but a silly boy
Trumpet was my only toy
Was blowing my horn
Since the day I was born
Ain't nobody want to know

I've been
Sleeping on the sidewalk, come on
Rolling down the road
May get hungry
But I sure don't wanna go home

Then along comes a limousine
With the biggest grin I ever seen
'Sonny won't you sign
Along the dotted line'
Are you playing?
Just saying?
You don't mean me?

I was
Sleeping on the sidewalk
Ooh, rolling, rolling down the road
May get hungry
But I sure don't wanna go home

Well, they took me to a room without a table
And just said 'blow your trumpet into here'
Well, I played around as well as I was able
Soon we made the record of the year

Now I'm a legend all through the land
I'm playing to a million fans
Nothing was a missing
The people want to listen
You'd have thought I was a happy man

I was sleeping like a princess
Never touch the road
I may get hungry
But I don't, don't, don't wanna go home
Sure have had that fun

Oh yes ah, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh baby

Well they tell me I ain't so fashionable
And I owe the man a million bucks a year
So I told him where to stick the fancy label
Just me and the road from here, alright

Back to playing, laying
I'm back on the road
I was

Sleeping on the sidewalk
Rolling down the road
May get hungry
But I sure don't wanna go home

Get Down, Make Love

Recorded at tour rehearsals and The Summit, Houston, Texas, on 11 December 1977. Length 3:23.
Available as part of the 'The American Dream' documentary only, included in the 'News Of The World' 40th anniversary boxed set.
This track includes around 1:30 of the track from tour rehearsals (upto 'get down, get down, get down'), and the remaining 1:53 from the Houston show. It ends abruptly, as it would normally segue into 'The Millionaire Waltz'.
Details of the original version can be found on the 'News Of The World' album page.

Lyrics:
Get down, make love
Get down, make love
Get down, make love
Get down, make love

You take my body - I give you heat
You say you hungry - I give you meat
You suck my mind - blow your head
Make love inside your bed
Everybody get down, make love
Get down, make love
Get down, make love
Get down, make love, yes

Everytime I get hot - you wanna cool down
Everytime I get high - you say you wanna come down
You say it's enough - in fact it's too much
Everytime I wanna
Get down, get down, get down

(Vocal improvisation by Freddie)

Get down, make love
Get down, make love
Get down, make love
Get down, make love

Everytime I get high - you wanna come down
Everytime I get hot - you say you wanna cool down
Say it's enough - in fact it's too much
Everytime I wanna get down, get down, get down

My Melancholy Blues

Recorded at The Summit, Houston, Texas, on 11 December 1977. Length 3:43.
This track is available on the CD and 12" singles of 'The Miracle', as a bonus streaming video as part of the 'Absolute Greatest' release in 2009, and in the 2017 'News Of The World' 40th anniversary boxed set. 'The Miracle' does not contain any of Freddie's intro, 'Absolute Greatest' contains some of it, and the boxed set and 'Rare Live' include it all. It also appears as a bonus video on the 'News Of The World' 2011 iTunes LP, though I am unsure whether Freddie's dialogue is included.
An edited version, at 2:48, appears on 'Rare Live', which retains the full introduction, but loses a verse and instrumental section from approximately 1:47 to 2:43.
Details of the original version can be found on the 'News Of The World' album page.

'Rare Live' and 40th Anniversary Boxed Set Introduction:
Freddie: OK um, we'd like to try out something very different right now, this is ah, from the new album ah, the News, the News Of The World, have you got it yet? The album that is.
Freddie: OK, you might just a, just about recognise this one. This is called ah, My Melancholy Blues.

'Absolute Greatest' Video Introduction:
Freddie: OK, you might just a, just about recognise this one. This is called ah, My Melancholy Blues.
Lyrics: (lyrics in red are lost from the 'Rare Live' version)
Another party's over
And I'm left cold sober
My baby left me for somebody new, oooh, oooh
I don't wanna talk about it
Want to forget about it
I'm intoxicated with that special brew

So come and get me
Let me
Get in that sinking feeling
That says my heart is on an all time low, so
Don't expect me
To behave perfectly
And wear that sunny smile
My guess is I'm in for a cloudy and overcast
Don't try and stop me
'Cos I'm heading for that stormy weather soon

I'm causing a mild sensation
With this new occupation
I'm permanently glued
To this extraordinary mood
So now move over
And let me take over
With my
Melancholy blues

I'm causing a mild sensation
With this new occupation
I'm in the news
I'm just getting used to my new exposure
So come into my enclosure
And meet my
Melancholy blues

Lyrics:
I've paid my dues
Time after time
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand
Kicked in my face
But I've come through

We are the champions, my friends
And we'll keep on fighting till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cos we are the champions of the world

I've taken my bows
And my curtain calls
You've brought me fame and fortune
And everything that goes with it, I thank you all
But it's been no bed of roses
No pleasure cruise
I consider it a challenge before
The whole human race
And I ain't gonna lose

We are the champions, my friends
And we'll keep on fighting till the end, sing it
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cos we are the champions of the world

We are the champions, my friends
And we'll keep on fighting till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cos we are the champions
Of the world

This track is only available as a bonus streaming video as part of the 'Absolute Greatest' release.
Details of the original version can be found on the 'Jazz' album page.

Lyrics:
Freddie: We're gonna do a few acoustic songs for everybody right now. And that needs some acoustic clapping (French dialogue). Hey, merci, merci. Hey hey, oh, hoh-hoh-hoh. Yeah, yeah, alright, alright, alright, we're gonna take you to New Orleans right now, ohh. Quick plane from Paris. Yeah

Dreamer's ball
I wanna go to the dreamer's ball with you
Alright

Hey, hey, hey
It's nice, nice, I like it
Oh, oh, wow, oh

I used to be your baby
Used to be your pride and joy, nice and easy does it boys
Used to take me dancing
Just like any other boy, yeah
But now you've found another partner
You left me like a broken toy
What do you think about that, hey?

Well, it's someone else you're taking
Someone else you're playing to, sure thing
Honey, though I'm aching
I know just what I have to do, right
If I can't have you when I'm waking
Go to sleep and dream I'm with you
Alright, let's take it

So, take me, take me
Take me to the dreamer's ball, yeah
I'll be right on time
And I'll dress so fine
You're gonna love me when you see me
I won't have to worry
Take me, take me
Promise not to wake me 'til it's morning
And it's all been true, ha

Yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
OK
Oh yeah
Right down that
(unknown lyric) street I tell you
Ooh
Right down that New Orleans street, way down, way down dreamer's town
So come on

So, take me, take me
Take me I'm your play thing now, right on, right on
You make my life worthwhile
With the slightest smile
You destroy me with the barely
Perceptible whisper
Gently take me
Remember I'll be dreaming of my baby
At the dreamer's ball

Oh take me to the dreamer's ball
Take me anytime
Hey

Ahhhhh
The machine of a dream, such a clean machine
With the pistons a pumping, and the hub-caps all gleam
When I'm holding your wheel
All I hear is your gear
With your hand on my grease gun, honey
Oh, it's like a disease son

I'm in love with my car (ooh, yeah)
Gotta feel for my automobile (alright)
Get a grip on my boy racer rollbar
Such a thrill when your radials squeal

Told my girl I'd have to forget her
Rather buy me a new carburettor
So she made tracks saying this is the end now
Cars don't talk back they're just four wheeled friends now

Lyrics:
Here I stand
Look around, around, around, around, around
But you won't see me

Now I'm here
Now I'm there
I'm just, I'm just, I'm just
Just a new man
Yes, you made me live again
Come on

A baby I was when you took my hand
The light of the night burned bright
The people all stared didn't understand
But you knew my name on sight

Oooh, whatever came of you and me
America's new bride to be
Don't worry babe I'm safe and sound
Down in the dungeon just Peaches 'n' me
Don't I love you so
Yes, you've made me live again, hey

Yeah
Ooh, a thin moon me in a smoke screen sky
Beams of your lovelight chase
Don't move, don't speak, don't feel no pain
With rain running down my face
Your matches still light up the sky
Many a tear lives on in my eye

Down in the city just Hoople 'n' me
Take it, hey
One time
Go, go
Go Johnny go

I like it

(unknown lyric)
Rock with me
Hey

Whatever comes of you and me
I love to leave my memory with you
With you, yeah, yeah

Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah

Now I'm here
Now I'm here
Now I'm here
Now I'm here
I think I'll stay
I think I'll stay
Around, around, around
Around, alright
Alright, OK

Hey, hey
Oh

Now I'm here
Now I'm here
Now I'm here
I think I'll stay
I think I'll stay
Around, around, around
Alright, OK
Alright, OK
Alright, alright

Lyrics:
Well you're just seventeen, all you wanna do is disappear
You know what I mean there's a lot of space between my ears
Way that you touch, feel no, no, no, nothing
Hey, hey, hey, hey, it was the D.N.A
Hey, hey, hey, hey, made me this way
Do you know, do you know, do you know just how I feel
Do you know, do you know, do you know just how I feel
Sheer heart attack
Sheer heart attack
Real cardiac

I feel so inar-inar-inar-inar-inar-inar-inar-inar-ticulate
Gotta feeling, gotta feeling, gotta feeling gotta paralyse
It ain't no, it ain't no, it ain't no, it ain't no surprise
Turn on the TV let it drip right down in your eyes
Hey, hey, hey, hey, was the D.N.A
Hey, hey, hey, hey, made me this way
Do you know, do you know, do you know just how I feel
Do you know, do you know, do you know just how I feel

How I feel

Feel
Baby make you feel
Baby make you feel alright
Baby, ahhh, ahhh

Lyrics:
Flash, a-ah, saviour of the universe
Flash, a-ah, he saved everyone of us
Flash, a-ah, he's a miracle
Flash, a-ah, king of the impossible

He's for everyone of us
Stand for everyone of us
He saved with a mighty hand
Every man every woman
Every child - he's a mighty flash

Flash, a-ah
Flash, a-ah

Just a man
With a man's courage
You know he's
Nothing but a man
And he can never fail
No-one but the pure at heart
May find the Golden Grail
Ohh, oh
Ohh, oh

So you feel like you ain't nobody
But you feel like you need somebody
Put your feet on the ground
Put your hand on your heart
Lift your head to the stars
The world's for your taking
Oh yeah

So you feel like it's end of story
But you feel pretty satisfactory
But let me tell you my friend
This could feel like the end
But the continuation is
Yours for the making
Oh yeah, oh you're a hero

Hero, yeah
Hero

A this thing called love I just can't handle it
This thing called love I must get down to it

Crazy little thing called love

A this thing (this thing) called love (called love)
It cries (like a baby)
In a cradle all night
It swings (woo, woo)
It jives (woo, woo)
Shakes all over like a jelly fish
I kinda like it
Crazy little thing called love

There goes my baby
She knows how to rock 'n' roll
She drives me crazy
She gives me hot and cold fever
And she leaves me in a cool, cool sweat

I gotta be cool, relax, get hip
Get on my tracks
Take a back seat, hitch hike
Take a long ride on my motorbike
Until I'm ready
Crazy little thing called love

Gotta be cool, relax, get hip
Get on my tracks
Take a back seat, a hitch hike
Take a long ride on my motorbike
Until I'm ready (ready Freddie)
Crazy little thing called love

This thing called love I just can't handle it
This thing called love I must get round to it
I ain't ready
Crazy little thing called love
Crazy little thing called love
Crazy little thing called love, mama
Crazy little thing called love, take it Brian

Yeah, yeah
Go for it, go
Crazy
Ooh, crazy little thing called love
Crazy little thing called love
Crazy little thing called love, mama
Crazy little thing called love, yeah, yeah
Crazy little thing called love, alright

Action
Go

This street honey is a mean street
Living in this street honey is a mean streak
We've got criminals living in this street
You've got a heartbeat pulse that keeps on pumping
Like a jukebox playing the same dead record
Or a radio in the corner keeps blaring
I gotta feeling this world is using me
Ha

This town honey is a dead town
Living in this town honey is a let down
Coming to this town honey is a show down
We've got a heartbeat pulse that keeps on pumping
Some sunshine ray through a crack in the shutter
Or a sight of a light at the end of the tunnel
I got a feeling this world is using me

Hey, action this day
Action this night
Oh, you've got the power to love to live
You can't say it ain't right, hey, hey

Action this day
Action this night
Oh, you've got the power
You've got the power
You've got the power to love and to live
You can't say it ain't right

Hey
Your mind honey is a bleak place
Living in your mind honey is a blank space
Your mind is coming from a rat race
You've got a heartbeat pulse that keeps on pumping
Like a jukebox playing the same dead record
Or a radio in the corner keeps blaring
I gotta feeling that just won't quit, this world is using me

Come on
Action this day, hey
Action this night, give me
You've got the power to love, to live
You can't say it ain't right

Action this day
Action this night
Oh, you've got the power
You've got the power
You've got the power to love, and to live
You can't say it ain't right

You've got it

Hey
Woo

Action, hey
Action, everybody
Action, action baby
Action, give it to me, ah
Action, action
Yeah, yeah, action
Ooh yeah, yeah, yeah

You've got the action
You've got the action, gotta give it to me
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Hey, yeah, yeah, yeah, oh

Ooh, you've got it
Everybody, come on
Let's do it
Everybody do it
Everybody do it tonight
Yeah
Action, give it
You've got action, you give it to me
I've got action, wanna give it to you
Oh action, come on give it to you, give it to you, give it to you, give it to you, hey
Hey, hey
Hey, hey

Action, action
I gotta feeling that just won't quit, this world is using
I
Got this, I got this feeling
I got this feeling
That this world is using, using, using, using, using, using
You and me, ahhh

Give it to me

Eyy-oh (eyy-oh)
Eyyy-ooh (eyyy-ooh)
Eyyyyy-ooh (eyyyyy-ooh)
Ey-oh, ey-oh (ey-oh, ey-oh)
Alright (alright)

Is gonna be (is gonna be)
Alright (alright)

Under Pressure

This track contains Freddie's singalong (length 0:23), then 'Under Pressure' itself (length 3:25).
Mixed by Justin Shirley-Smith.

Lyrics:
(Ad-libbed vocal singalong)

Freddie: Fuck as I could, I tell you. I'll get you after a couple of songs, you wait. You're on

Yeah

Um, boom, bah, bay
Um, boom, bah, bay
Dum, dum, da-dah, doo-dah

Pressure pushing down on me
Pushing down on you, no man ask for
Under pressure
That burns a building down
Splits a family in two
Puts people on streets

Um, bah, bah, bay
Um, bah, bah, bay
Eh, day, dah
Eh, day, dah
That's OK

It's the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends screaming
Let me out
Pray tomorrow - gets me higher
Pressure on people - people on streets

Day, day, day
Bay, bay, bay, be-bay
OK

Chipping around - kick my brains around the floor
These are the days, it never rains but it pours
Eh, doh, day-dep
Eh, ba, ba, bop
Eh, doh, doh
Day, dop

People on streets
Eh, dah, dee, dah, day
People on streets
Eh, dah, dee, dah, dee, dah, dee, dah

It's the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends screaming
Let me out
Pray tomorrow
Higher, higher, higher

Turned away from it all like a blind man
Sat on a fence but it don't work
Keep coming up with love but it's so slashed and torn
Why - why?
Insanity laughs under pressure we're cracking

Can't we give ourselves one more chance
Why can't we give love that one more chance
Why can't we give love, give love, give love
Give love, give love, give love, give love, give love
Cause love's such an old fashioned word
And love dares you to
Care for the people on the
Edge of the night
And love dares you to
Change our way of
Caring about ourselves
This is our last dance
This is our last dance
This is ourselves

Under pressure
Under pressure

Innuendo / Kashmir / Thank You

(medley)

Recorded at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert at Wembley Stadium, London, England, on 20 April 1992. Length 7:49.
This medley was performed with Robert Plant on vocals. 'Thank You' and 'Kashmir' are two Led Zeppelin tracks, which were album-only tracks in 1969 and 1975 respectively.
The full track featured 'Innuendo', with an excerpt of 'Kashmir' replacing the fast acoustic section of the track, and an excerpt of 'Thank You' right at the end.
A severely edited version of the track, at 1:43, was released on the video and DVD release of the concert, which only includes 'Thank You'.
Details of the original version of 'Innuendo' can be found on the 'Innuendo' album page, while the released edited version can be found on the 'Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert' video page.

Lyrics: (the edited version only includes the last three verses)
One, two, three, four

The sky and the desert has sand
While the waves crash in the sea and meet the land
While there's a wind and the stars and the rainbow
Till the mountains crumble into the plane
Ooh, yes we'll keep on trying
Ooh, tread that fine line
Yes we'll keep on trying
Just passing our time

Oooh

While we live according to race, colour or creed
While we rule by blind madness and pure greed
Our lives dictated by tradition, false religion
Through the eons, and on and on
Ooh yes, we'll keep on trying, yeah
We'll tread that fine line
Ooh, we'll keep on trying
Till the end of time
Till the end of time

Oh, father of the four winds, fill my sails, across the sea of years
With no provision but an open face, along the straits of fear
My shangri-la beneath the summer moon, I will return again
Sure as the dust that floats high and true, when movin’ through Kashmir

Through our sorrow all through our splendour
Don't take offence at my innuendo
Don't take offence at my innuendo
Innuendo

Oooh, ooh, baby, baby
If there's a point, or any damn God under the sky
If there's a point, if there's a reason to live or die
If there's an answer to the questions we feel bound to ask
Show yourself, destroy our fears, release your mask

Yes we'll keep on trying
Ooh, baby, tread that fine line
Ooh, we'll keep on trying
Yeah, yeah, yeah
And whatever will be, will be, oooh yeah
Till the end of time
Till the end of time
Till the end of time

If the sun refused to shine
I would still be loving you
If mountains crumbled to the sea
There would still be you and me

Oh, yeah
Kinda woman, I'll give you my all
Kinda woman, nothing more

If the sun refused to shine, ooh baby
Ooh girl, you know I'll still be loving you
Mountains crumble to the sea, yeah
There would still be you and me
Because

The Show Must Go On

Recorded at the National Theatre De Challiot, Paris, on 17 January 1997. Length 4:19.
This track was performed at the world premiere of the 'Bejart Ballet For Life', and features lead vocals by Elton John.
This track is only available on the 'Greatest Hits III' album and 'Greatest Flix III' video.
Details of the original version can be found on the 'Innuendo' album page.

Lyrics:
Empty spaces, what are we living for
Abandoned places, I guess we know the score
On and on, does anybody know what we are looking for

Another hero, another mindless crime
Behind the curtain, in the pantomime
Hold the line, does anybody want to take it anymore

The show must go on
The show must go on, yeah
Inside my heart is breaking
My make up may be flaking
But my smile still stays on

Whatever happens, I'll leave it all to chance
Another heartache, another failed romance
On and on, does anybody know what we are living for

I guess I'm learning, I must be warmer now
I'll soon be turning (turning, turning) round the corner now
Outside the dawn is breaking
But inside in the dark I'm aching to be free

The show must go on
The show must go on
Inside my heart is breaking
My make up may be flaking
But my smile still stays on

My soul is painted like the wings of butterflies
Fairytales of yesterday grow but never die
I can fly my friends

The show must go on
The show must go on
I'll face it with a grin
I'm never giving in
On with the show
Ooh

I'll top the bill
I'll overkill
I have to find the will to carry on
With the show

The show must go on
The show must go on

Get your pigtails down
Your heart beating, baby
Got my timing right
Got my act all tight
It's gotta be tonight my little schoolbabe
Daddy says you won't
Mumma says you don't
I'm bottling up inside
No way I'm gonna lose out this time

Tie your mother down
Tie your mother down
Lock your daddy out of doors
I don't need him nosing around
Tie your mother down
Tie your mother down
Give me all your love tonight, yeah

You're such a dirty louse
Go get out of my house
That's all I ever get from you
And your family ties, in fact I don't think I ever heard
A single little civil word from
Oh I don't give a light
Gonna make out all right
Got a sweetheart hand
Put an end to all that
Sniping and grousing
Here we go

Tie your mother down
Tie your mother down
Take your little brother swimming
With a brick, that's all right
Tie your mother down
Tie your mother down
Ain't no friends of mine

Your mummy and your daddy gonna
Plague me till I die
I can't understand it
I'm a peace loving guy

Tie your mother down
Tie your mother down
Your big, big, big, big, big daddy out of doors
Tie your mother down
Tie your mother down
All your love tonight

All your love, wooh
All your love tonight. come on, come on, come on
All your love tonight
All your love

Oooh
Oooh
Tonight

(Radio)
I'd sit alone and watch your light
My only friend through teenage nights
And everything I had to know
I heard it on my radio
(Radio)

You gave them all those old time stars
Through wars of worlds invaded by Mars
You made 'em laugh, you made us cry
You made us feel like we could fly
(Radio)

So don't become some background noise
A backdrop for the girls and boys
Who just don't know and just don't care
And just complain when you're not there
You had your time, had the power
You've yet to have your finest hour
Radio (radio) everybody

All we hear is radio ga ga
Radio goo goo, radio ga ga
All we hear is radio ga ga
Radio goo goo, radio ga ga
All we hear is radio ga ga
Radio blah blah
Radio what's new, ohh
Radio, someone still loves you
Loves you

Lyrics:
Mama, just killed a man
Put a gun against his head
Pulled my trigger now he's dead
Mama, life had just begun
But now I've gone and thrown it all away

Mama, oooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Didn't mean to make you cry
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters

Too late, my time has come
Sends shivers down my spine
My body's aching all the time
Goodbye everybody, I've got to go
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth

Mama, oooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
(Anyway the wind blows)
I don't want to die
I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all (oooh-ooh, oooh-ooh, oooh-ooh, oooh-ooh)

Oooh

I see a little silhouetto of a man
Scaramouche, Scaramouche will you do the fandango?
Thunderbolts and lightning - very, very frightening me
Gallileo, Gallileo
Gallileo, Gallileo
Ensemble: Gallileo, figaro - magnifico-o-o-o-oh
I'm just a poor boy, nobody loves me
He's just a poor boy from a poor family
Spare him his life from this monstrosity

Easy come, easy go, will you let me go
Bismillah! No - we will not let you go, let him go
Bismillah! We will not let you go, let him go
Bismillah! We will not let you go, let me go
Will not let you go, let me go
Never, never, never, never, never (never let you go)
Never let me go-o-o-o-oh
No, no, no, no, no, no, no
Mama mia, mama mia
Mama mia let me go
Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me, for me, for me
Yeah

So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye?
So you think you can love me and leave me to die?
Oh, baby
Can't do this to me baby, no, no, no
Just gotta get out
Just gotta get right outta here

Yeah
Ooooh, ooooh, ooooh, oooh yeah, oooh yeah

Nothing really matters
Anyone can see
Nothing really matters
Nothing really matters to me

Anyway the wind blows
Thank you

Available on the Pavarotti 'The Greatest Hits' album only.
Details of the original version can be found on the 'Made In Heaven' album page.

Lyrics: (Brian sings the lyrics in white, while Pavarotti sings the lyrics in red)
I'm just the pieces of the man I used to be
Too many bitter tears are raining down on me
I'm far away from home
And I've been facing this alone for much too long, ooh

Io sento che qualcuno non mi ha detto mai
Su come poi si cresce a vivere così
Nella mente mia confusa
Guardo indietro per capir dove sbagliai, ooh

Too much love will kill you
If you can't make up your mind
Torn between the lover
And the love you leave behind
You're headed for disaster
'Cos you never read the signs
Too much love will kill you - every time

Son solo l'ombra di quell'uomo che ero io
E sembra che non trovo un'altra via per me
Io che portavo il sole
Adesso quel che faccio butto giù, ooh

How would it be if you were standing in my shoes
Can't you see it's impossible to choose
No there's no making sense of it
Every way I go I have to lose
Yeah

Troppo amor t'uccide
Ma nessun amore no
È la forza che tu hai dentro
Che ti fa gridare ancora
Di dolore impazzirai
Sei la vittima e lo sai
Troppo amor t'uccide, sì lo sai

Troppo amor t'uccide
E la tua vita è una bugia

Yes, too much love will kill you
And you won't understand why
You'd give your life, you'd sell your soul
But here it comes again

Too much love will kill you
In the end
In the end

Ayyy-oh
Woo
Yeah

Heyyy

Up in the air (????)
Ooohhhh
Oh yeah
Huh

Get your party gown
Get your pigtail down
Get your heart beating, baby
Got my timing right
Got my act all tight
It's gotta be tonight my little schoolbabe
Mamma says you don't
Daddy says you won't
Boiling up inside
No way I'm gonna lose out this time, hey

Tie your mother down
Tie your mother down
Don't need your missing, your messing around
Tie your mother down
Tie your mother down
Give me all your love tonight

Hey, you're a dirty louse
Get the fuck out of my house
That's all I ever get from you
Oh, your family ties, in fact I don't think I ever heard
A single little civil word from those fuckers
Yo, but I don't give a light
Gonna break out all right
Got a sweetheart hand
To put a stop to all that
Shouting, shouting going on

Tie your mother down
Tie your mother down
Take your little brother swimming
With a brick, that's all right
Tie your mother down
Tie your mother down
Ain't no friend of mine
Come on, yeah

So this is what it looks like out here

Woh, your mummy and your daddy gonna plague me till I die
Can't understand it, I'm just a peace loving guy

Tie your mother down
Tie your mother down
Big, big, big, big, big, big, daddy out of doors
Tie your mother down
Tie your mother down
Give me all your love tonight
Come on
All your love tonight, yeah
All your love tonight, yeah, yeah
All your love tonight, yeah, oh yeah
All your love tonight, come on, tonight
All your love tonight
All your love tonight, wow
All your love tonight
All your love tonight
Yeah
End it
Ohhh, oh

Tonight, oh

This version appears on the CD single of the track, as a video with a NowPlayIt guitar tutorial. Length 3:46.
Details of the original version can be found on the 'The Cosmos Rocks' album page.

Lyrics:
Oh, yeah, yeah

Ain't got no hope
Got no idea
What to do
Or why I'm here

Wanna get my face
On your TV
I wanna be heard
I want to be seen

Ain't got nothing, no
Nothing, nothing to show
Make me a celebrity

I want to be, oh yeah
A face on TV, ah ha
Then you can see
I'm a celebrity

I wanna get my features
On your TV
See this creature on every street
On every scene

Write my life story
Before I'm twenty one
I've got to tell the world
They may say I'm dumb, but ah

Ain't got nothing, no
Nothing, nothing to show
Make me a celebrity

I want to be
A face on TV, ah, ha
Then you can see, tell me Brian
I'm a celebrity
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah

I wanna be a star, yeah
In a Broadway musical
They're gonna love me
Though I can't sing or dance at all

They may say, ha
I'm lackadaisical
And if I was real good
I'd stand no chance at all, oh but a

I want to be
A face on TV, I wanna be on your screen, ha, ha
Then you can see
I'm a celebrity

(Then you can say) then you can say, mercy now
You knew me one day
(Then you will see) and then you will know, ha
I'm a celebrity
Oh, now tell me right

C-Celebrity, ha, I want to be a
C-C-C-lebrity, I've got to be a
C-Celebrity, yeah, make me a star
C-C-C-C-lebrity

I want to be heard
I want to be seen on every TV screen

Al Murray: Hey hey
