The CD had the above track listing, whilst the LP had 'Don't Try
So Hard' after 'Delilah'. The original LP also featured shorter
versions of many tracks, for space reasons. However, 'Greatest
Hits' is longer than the album, and was released on LP in
unedited form, so why the edits were needed is not clear. Only
'Innuendo', 'Ride The Wild Wind', 'Delilah' and 'The Show Must Go
On' are the same for the CD and LP releases. All other tracks are
shortened through edits, earlier fades, or a combination of the
two. The 2015 'Studio Collection' LP is split over two discs, and
features the CD tracklisting, but strangely swaps 'I Can't Live
With You' and 'These Are The Days Of Our Lives', for no apparent
reason. The LP's feature three tracks per side, and the original
tracklisting gives playing times of 15:33, 12:55, 12:11 and
13:10. By swapping these two tracks, the middle two sides become
12:36 and 12:29, a difference of only eighteen seconds.

Innuendo
Track 1. Written by Queen. Length 6:31.
Details are also available of an unreleased 1989 early mix.
This track was performed with Robert Plant at the Freddie Mercury
Tribute Concert, as a medley featuring 'Kashmir' in the middle
part of the song, and 'Thank You' at the end. Only 'Thank You'
has been offficially released, but details of the whole medley
can be found on the Miscellaneous
Live Songs page.
Steve Howe (additional wandering Spanish minstrel guitar -
'somewhere in the middle')
1. Promo Edit (3:17) (on the 'Hints Of Innuendo' promo cassette
only; this loses a large number of sections, some of them very
small edits, to reduce the length; this track is available on
Youtube and seems to be genuine, despite the much longer running
time compared to the other tracks on the cassette)
2. Video Version (6:40) (available on 'Greatest Flix II'; this is
the same as the album version but adds some atmospheric wind
noise to the start)
3. Explosive Version (6:42) (on the CD and 12" singles only;
exactly the same, with an 'explosion' effect at the end, from
6:15 onwards)
4. The Eye Instrumental Edit (0:37) (played as an introduction to
the game; the album version from 0:03 to 0:41, without any
vocals)
5. 'Greatest Hits II' Edit (6:27) (a very slight edit, which
fades out a fraction earlier)
6. 'A Sample
Of Magic' Promo Excerpt (1:05) (available on the promo CD
only, this is a straight excerpt of the track from approximately
1:45 to 2:51)
7. Menu Edit 1 (1:28) (on the 'Days Of Our Lives' DVD and Blu-ray
main menu, when you first enter it; contains the sections from
0:00 to 0:46, then 0:34 to 0:46 repeated three times, fading out
at the end, which retains the count-in and 'oooh, oooh' four
times)
8. Menu Edit 2 (0:40) (on the 'Days Of Our Lives' DVD and Blu-ray
main menu, when it repeats; contains the sections from 0:08 to
0:46, then 0:34 to 0:36, fading in and out, retaining 'ooh, ooh')
9. Menu Edit 3 (0:02) (on the 'Days Of Our Lives' DVD and Blu-ray
main menu, when you choose 'Subtitles' or 'Bonus Features'; a
very short excerpt from 0:35 to 0:37, retaining 'ooh, ooh')

One, two, three, four
Oooh, oooh
While the sun hangs in the sky and the desert has sand
While the waves crash in the sea and meet the land
While there's a wind and the stars and the rainbow
Till mountains crumble into the plane
Ooh, yes we'll keep on trying
Tread that fine line
Ooh, we'll keep on trying, yeah
Just passing our time
Oooh, oooh
While we live according to race, colour or creed
While we rule by blind madness and pure greed
Our lives dictated by tradition, superstition, false religion
Through the eons, and on and on
Ooh yes, we'll keep on trying, yeah
We'll tread that fine line
Ooh, oh, we'll keep on trying
Till the end of time
Till the end of time
Through the sorrow all through our splendour
Don't take offence at my innuendo
Good, good, good, good, good, good, good
Good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good
You can be anything you want to be
Just turn yourself into anything you think that you could ever be
Be free with your tempo, be free, be free
Surrender your evil, be free, be free to yourself
Oooh, oooh
Yeah
If there's a God or any kind of justice under the sky
If there's a point, if there's a reason to live or die, ha
If there's an answer to the questions we feel bound to ask
Show yourself, destroy our fears, release your mask
Ooh, yes we'll keep on trying
Hey, tread that fine line
Yeah, we'll keep on smiling, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
And whatever will be, will be
We'll just keep on trying
We'll just keep on trying
Till the end of time
Till the end of time
Till the end of time
I'm Going

Louder
What a silly goose
When the outside temperature rises
And the meaning is oh so clear
One thousand and one yellow daffodils
Begin to dance in front of you, oh dear
Are they trying to tell you something
You're missing that one final screw
You're simply not in the pink my dear
To be honest you haven't got a clue
I'm going slightly mad
I'm going slightly mad
It finally happened, happened
It finally happened, oh, oh
It finally happened
I'm slightly mad
Oh dear
What a silly goose
Ha, ha, ha, ha
What a silly goose
I'm one card short of a full deck
I'm not quite the shilling
One wave short of a shipwreck
I'm not my usual top billing
I'm coming down with a fever (oooohh)
I'm really out to sea
This kettle is boiling over (ooooh, oooh, oooh)
I think I'm a banana tree (oooh, ooh)
Oh dear
What a silly goose
I'm going slightly mad
I'm going slightly mad
It finally happened, happened
It finally happened, uh, huh
It finally happened, I'm slightly mad
Oh dear
Ooh-ooh, ah-ah
Ooh-ooh, ah-ah
I'm knitting with only one needle
Unravelling fast it's true
I'm driving only three wheels these days
But my dear how about you
Ahhh, ahhh
What a silly goose
I'm going slightly mad
I'm going slightly mad
It finally happened
It finally happened, oh, yes
It finally happened
I'm slightly mad
Just very slightly mad, so there
And there you have it
Headlong
Track 3. Written by Queen. Length 4:37.
This track was originally intended for Brian's 'Back To The
Light' album. The echoes at the end of the track are the title
'Headlong' reversed.
The full length album version appears on both the 'Classic Queen'
and 'Queen Rocks' compilations, and the 'Queen Singles Collection
4' boxed set, while 'Greatest Hits II' includes a slightly edited
version.
Details are also available of an unreleased demo and early version.
1. Embryo With Guide Vocal
(4:42) (available on the 2011 double-disc reissue; this features
very similar music to the album version, but features Brian on
vocals throughout. The lyrics are also very similar, but some
verses are missing entirely)
2. Early Version Edit (1:04) (on the 'Hints Of Innuendo' promo
cassette; an earlier version, which loses backing vocals; this
has obviously been edited down from a longer demo)
3. LP Version (4:31) (on the original LP, the 2009 reissue, and
the 'Greatest Hits II' CD only; edits out two short sections,
from 1:49 to 1:53 and 4:03 to 4:07; the very final guitar burst
is also a lot quieter)
4. Promo Edit (3:47) (on a US Promo CD; presumably loses some
instrumental sections)
5. Promo CHR Edit (3:20) (on a Canadian promo CD; this loses the
guitar solo and most of the instrumental sections)
6. Promo Video Version (4:43) (available on the 'Greatest Flix
II' and 'Classic Queen' videos only; adds a short guitar part, at
about 1:01)
7. The Eye Instrumental (4:43) (a full instrumental version of
the 'Greatest Flix II' version)

And you're rushing headlong you've got a new goal
And you're rushing headlong out of control
And you think you're so strong
But there ain't no stopping and there's nothing you can do about
it
Nothing you can do, no there's nothing you can do about it
No there's nothing you can, nothing you can, nothing you can do
about it
And you're rushing headlong you've got a new goal
And you're rushing headlong out of control
And you think you're so strong
But there ain't no stopping no there's nothing
You can do about it, yeah
Hey, he used to be a man with a stick in his hand
Hoop, diddy, diddy, hoop, diddy, do
She used to be a woman with a hotdog stand
Hoop, diddy, diddy, wow, hoop, diddy, do
Now you've got soup in the laundry bag
Now you've got strings, you're gonna lose your rag
You're getting in a fight then it ain't so groovy
When you're screaming in the night let me out of this cheap B
movie
Headlong down the highway and you're rushing
Headlong out of control
And you think you're so strong
But there ain't no stopping and you can't stop rocking
And there's nothing you can, nothing you can, nothing you can do
about it
When a red hot man meets a white hot lady
Hoop, diddy, diddy, hoop, diddy, do, ho
Soon the fire starts a raging gets them more than half crazy
Hoop, diddy, diddy, hoop, diddy, do
Ooh, now they start freaking every way you turn
You can't start walking 'cos your feet got burned
It ain't no time to figure wrong from right
'Cos reason's out the window
Better hold on tight
You're rushing headlong
Headlong out of control, yeah
You think you're so strong
But there ain't no stopping
And there's nothing you, nothing you
Nothing you can do about it at all
Yeah, yeah
Alright, go
And you're rushing headlong down the highway
And you're rushing headlong out of control
And you think you're so strong
But there ain't no stopping
There's nothing, nothing, nothing you can do about it, yeah
(Oooh, oooh, ooh-ooh-oooh)
Ha, ha, headlong
Headlong
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Headlong, headlong
Headlong, on and on and on and on and
I Can't Live
With You

Roger's original live drums, and new guitar from Brian. It was
originally released on the 1997 compilation 'Queen Rocks'.
On the 2015 'Studio Collection' LP, the track swaps position with
'These Are The Days Of Our Lives'.

Justin Shirley-Smith, Joshua J. Macrae and David Richards
(engineering of 'Rocks Retake')

only; a straight edit of the track from 1:03 to 2:28, starting
instantly and fading out from 2:21 onwards)
2. LP Version (4:04) (on the original LP, and the 2009 reissue;

3:47 onwards)
3. The Eye
Instrumental (4:37) (an instrumental with some backing
vocals)
4. Malouf Remix (4:29) (on a US Promo CD; a remix, with some
additional keyboards, and also seems to be slightly heavier than

5. Malouf Remix Edit (4:13) (on a US Promo CD; an edit of the
above remix, losing a few vocals and some of Brian's solo, from
3:06 to 3:22)
6. 1997 Rocks Retake (4:47) (on 'Queen Rocks', and the 2011
double-disc reissue only; a much heavier take with some different
vocals, a new intro and outro)
I can't live without you, I can't live without you, I can't live
without you, I can't live without you
I can't live without you, I can't live without you, wow, oh
Hey
Yeah, I can't live with you
But I can't live without you (oooh-oooh-ooh)
I can't let you stay, oooh
But I can't live if you go away
I don't know just how it goes (ooooh)
All I know is I can't live with you
Yeah, I'm having a hard time
I'm walking a fine line
Between hope and despair
You may think that I don't care
But I travelled a long road to
Get a hold of my sorrow
I tried to catch a dream
But nothing's what it seems
Love is saying baby it's alright
When deep inside you're really petrified
Lover turns to hater on this escalator
I can't live with you, yeah
But I can't live without you
I can't breathe if you stay
But I can't bear you to go away (ooooh-ooh-ooh)
I don't know what time it is
All I know is I can't live with you
We're stuck in a bad place
We're trapped in a rat race
And we can't escape
Maybe there's been some mistake
We're trying to make a high score
We're walking through a closed door
And nobody's winning
We're just sinning against ourselves
Hold on baby tell me it's alright
Anger's breaking from the hurt inside
Passions screaming hotter
Doing what we gotta do, yeah
I can't live with you
I can't live with you
I can't live, I can't live, I can't, I can't live with you
But baby, I'll never ever leave you (ooooh-ooooh)
I can't live with you
But I can't live without you
'Cos I'm in love with you, ooh
And everything about you (ooooh-oooh-ooh)
I can't live with you
No, I just can't live, I just can't live
I can't live with you, yeah
But I can't live without you
Through the madness, through the tears
We've still got each other for a million years
Yeah
Oooh, yeah
Yeah, yeah, day-dap
I can't live without you, yeah, yeah
I can't live without you
Yeah, yeah
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
I can't live without you
I can't live without you
I can't live without you
Wow oh, I can't live without you, baby, baby, baby
Without you
I can't live without you
I can't live without you
A-bop, a-bop, a-woah-woah-woah-yeah, yeah, yeah
Can't live without you
Yeah
Don't Try So
Hard
Track 5 on the CD, track 9 on the LP. Written by Queen. Length
3:39.
Details are also available of an unreleased early alternate mix.
1. Promo Edit (1:34) (on the 'Hints Of Innuendo' promo cassette
only; a straight edit of the track from 2:02 onwards, fading out
slightly earlier)
2. LP Version (3:32) (on the original LP, and the 2009 reissue;
same as the normal version, but cuts out a small instrumental
part from 1:59 to 2:02, and fades out three seconds earlier)
3. The Eye Edit
(1:33) (a straight edit upto 1:33, fading out over 2 seconds)
If you're searching out for something
Don't try so hard
If you're feeling kinda nothing
Don't try so hard
When your problems seem like mountains
Feel the need to find some answers
You can leave it for another day
Don't try so hard
But if you fall and take a tumble
It won't be far
If you fail you mustn't grumble
Thank your lucky stars
Just savour every mouthful
And treasure every moment
When the storms are raging round you
Stay right where you are
Oooh, don't try so hard
Oooh, don't take it all to heart
It's only fools they make these rules
Don't try so hard
One day you'll be a sergeant major
Oh, you'll be so proud
Screaming out your bloody orders
Hey, but not too loud
Polish all your shiny buttons
Dress as lamb instead of mutton
But you never had to try to stand out
From the crowd
Ooh, oh-ooh, what a beautiful world
This is the life for me
Ooh, oh-ooh, what a beautiful world
It's the simple life for me (ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
Ooh, don't try so hard
Ooh, don't take it all to heart
It's only fools
They make these rules
Don't try so hard
Don't try so hard
Don't try so hard

Ride the wild wind
Push the envelope, don't sit on the fence - hey, hey, hey, hey
Ride the wild wind
Live your life on the razors edge - hey, hey, hey
Gonna ride the wild wind, ooooh
It ain't dangerous enough for me
Get your head down baby, yeah, we're gonna ride tonight
Your angel eyes are shining bright
I wanna take your hand, lead you from this place
Gonna leave it all behind, check out of this rat race
Ride the wild wind - hey, hey, hey, hey
Ride the wild wind - hey (hey, hey, hey)
Gonna ride the wild wind (ooooh)
It ain't dangerous enough for me
Tie your hair back baby
We're gonna ride tonight, yeah
We got freaks to the left
We got jerks to the right
Sometimes I get so low
I just have to ride
Um, let me take your hand
Um, let me be your guide
Ooh, ride the wild wind
Don't sit on the fence - hey, hey, hey, hey
Um, ride the wild wind
Live life on the razors edge - (hey, hey, hey)
Gonna ride the wild wind (ooooh)
It ain't dangerous enough for me
Yeah, ride the wild wind - hey, hey, hey, hey
Um, ride the wild wind - hey, hey, hey, hey, ha, ha, ha
Gonna ride it, ride the wild wind
It ain't dangerous enough for me
Ride the wild wind

Moran. Length 4:21.
This track began as a Freddie solo track called 'Africa By

So all you people give freely
Make welcome inside your homes, wow
Thank God you people give freely
Don't turn your back on the lesson of the lord
All prime ministers, yeah, and majesties around the world, yeah
Open your eyes, look touch and feel, yeah
Rule with your heart (rule with your heart)
(Live with your) live with your conscience
And love, love and be
Love, love and be free
We're all God's people
Gotta face up, better grow up
Gotta stand tall and be strong
Gotta face up, better grow up
Gotta face up, better grow up
Gotta stand tall and be strong
Gotta face up, better grow up
We're all God's people (gotta face up, better grow up)
(Gotta face up), yeah, (better grow up), yeah
Yes, yeah
Yes, there was this magic light
I said to myself
I'd better go to bed and have an early night

We're all God's people
Give freely, yeah

Sometimes I get to feeling
I was back in the old days, long ago
When we were kids, when we were young
Things seemed so perfect, you know
The days were endless, we were crazy, we were young
The sun was always shining, we just lived for fun
Sometimes it seems like lately, I just don't know
The rest of my life's been just a show
Those were the days of our lives
The bad things in life were so few
Those days are all gone now but one thing is true
When I look, and I find, I still love you
You can't turn back the clock, you can't turn back the time
Ain't that a shame?
I'd like to go back one time on a rollercoaster ride
When life was just a game
No use in sitting and a thinking on what you did
When you can lay back and enjoy it through your kids
Sometimes it seems like lately I just don't know
Better sit back and go with the flow
'Cos these are the days of our lives
They've flown in the swiftness of time
These days are all gone now but some things remain
When I look and I find no change
Those were the days of our lives, yeah
The bad things in life were so few
Those days are all gone now but
One thing's still true
When I look and I find
I still love you
I still love you
Delilah
Track 9 on the CD, track 8 on the LP. Written by Queen. Length
3:34.
Details are also available of an unreleased demo version.
1. Demo Version Edit (1:18) (on the 'Hints Of Innuendo' promo
cassette, this version is more basic than normal)
Delilah, Delilah
Oh my, oh my, oh my
You're irresistible, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
You make me smile when I'm just about to cry
You bring me hope, you make me laugh and I like it
You get away with murder so innocent
But when you throw a moody you're all claws and you bite
That's alright
Delilah
Delilah
Oh my, oh my, oh my
You're unpredictable, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
You make me so very happy
When you cuddle up and go to sleep beside me
And then you make me slightly mad
When you pee all over my Chippendale suite
(Ooooh, ooooh)
Delilah
(Ooooh, ooooh)
Delilah
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
You take over my house and home
You even try to answer my telephone
Delilah, oh
You're the apple of my eyes
Miaow
Miaow
Miaow
Delilah - I love you
Delilah, oh
Ooh, you make me so very happy
You give me kisses and I go out of my mind, wooh
You're irresistible, I love you Delilah
Delilah - I love you
Ha, ha, you make me very happy, oooh, oooh, oh yes
I love your kisses
I love your kisses
I love your kisses
I love your kisses
I love your, your, your kisses
I love your kisses

Here we go, yeah
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Hey, I'm the hitman, stand aside
I'm the hitman I want your life
Ain't no escaping
Don't run and hide
There goes the neighbourhood
I'm gonna kill for your love, that's right
Hitman - now don't you cry
I'm just it man, you might get fried
Gun in my pocket
Don't get me wrong
I'll be your hitman
I'm a fool for your love
I'm a head shredder
That's better
Baby, baby, baby
I'm a hitman, hitman, hitman
Yeah, trouble in the east, trouble in the west
Struggle with the beast, what a thief, what a pest
Come back mother, nuke that sucker
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Who knows what I am talking about?
Waste that brother, alright
Ooh
That's the way to do it
Ha, ha
I'm the hitman, I'm your prize
But this hitman can cut you down to size
Love me baby, don't be so cool
Love me, love me baby
I've been to the hitman school
Yeah, yeah
You're gonna make my day
Gonna blow you away
When the fun begins
Hitman
Are you ready for the sting
Gonna waste that thing
Hitman
Hitman is king
Yeah
Go, go
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Hitman, hitman
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, ow

Empty spaces, what are we living for
Abandoned places, I guess we know the score
On and on, does anybody know what we are looking for
Another hero, another mindless crime
Behind the curtain, in the pantomime
Hold the line, does anybody want to take it anymore
The show must go on
The show must go on, yeah
Inside my heart is breaking
My make up may be flaking
But my smile still stays on
Whatever happens, I'll leave it all to chance
Another heartache, another failed romance
On and on, does anybody know what we are living for
I guess I'm learning (I'm learning, I'm learning, I'm learning),
I must be warmer now
I'll soon be turning (turning, turning, turning) round the corner
now
Outside the dawn is breaking
But inside in the dark I'm aching to be free
The show must go on
The show must go on, yeah, yeah
Oooh, inside my heart is breaking (ooooh)
My make up may be flaking (oooh)
But my smile still stays on
Yeah, yeah
Oh-oh-woah, oh-oh-woah
My soul is painted like the wings of butterflies
Fairytales of yesterday will grow but never die
I can fly my friends
The show must go on (go on, go on, go on), yeah, yeah
The show must go on (go on, go on, go on)
I'll face it with a grin
I'm never giving in
On with the show
Oooh, I'll top the bill
I'll overkill
I have to find the will to carry on
On with the show
On with the show
The show must go on
Go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go
on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go
on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on
Lost Opportunity
Non-Album Track. Written by Queen. Length 3:51.
This track is only available on the 2011 double-disc reissue, and
on the 'I'm Going Slightly Mad' CD and 12" singles.
Brian May sings lead vocals. The track was apparently recorded in
a single take.
Oooh, oooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, oh, oh, oh
Oooh, oooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, yeah
Yeah
Every morning I face the sun
I lift my head and smile at everyone
Every afternoon you'll find me working on
I got my new shoes on
Got to be moving on, that's what they say
Every night I'm tossed
And I shake my fevered brow
Thinking of my lost opportunity
Oh yeah
Oooh
Yes every morning I face the sun
I get so positive with everyone
Ooh and every afternoon you'll find the cracks showing through
They know what I'm going through
Oh yes they do
Every evening finds me
The optimist behind me
On with my lost opportunity
Queen Talks
Non-Album Track. Compiled and produced by Rudi Dolezal and Hannes
Rossacher. Length 1:43.
This track is available on 'The Show Must Go On' CD1 and 12"
singles, and in the 'Queen Singles Collection 4' boxed set, and
is a collection of interview soundbites and out-takes, mostly
taken from the 'Queen
For An Hour' 1989 interview with Mike Read.
Hello, hello, hello, my name is Kim Basinger
Who is going to be Queen for an hour
More rhythm, more rhythm
This is Brian May, dah, dah, and this is Roger Taylor
I'm Freddie Mercury, on a bank holiday
And I'm John Deacon from Queen
It wasn't bad, I mean
What's the, um, title of the show again
This one, yes, I don't know
Do you know I can't remember
Four old ladies are still rocking away
No, no, no, no, no
It's quite ridiculous, wasn't it. Actually at that point I wanted
to do something totally different
Dee, dee, dee
Um, ah, you mean, um
I think that's a sort of surreal masterpiece
It has a semi-autobiographical feel about it
A bit of a mixture, you mean, mish-mash
That's the word I was looking for
We always had the idea that we really wanted to lead people to
somewhere new, rather than fit into what was going on, how
boring, with the music. Am I making sense?
I'll tell you in two years time
Why don't you just concentrate on the first one, really?
In fact that's the number one trick
That was almost there. Try another one, OK.
It's always really dreadfully difficult to know
Can't you do one that goes 'Dah, dah, um, bah, bah?'
I'm not a singer. That's the least of his problems
I'm not the drummer. Cor, it's getting nice this
Ah, but apart from that, er, I have no plans
If it is planned then it's boring
You know, it's got hidden depths
What can you say?
Um - dah, dah.... no?
Very musically awful but totally right
It's not like rock and roll
But it is unusual and different and you have to buy it
Then it's OK. When they stop buying our records, then I'll say
goodbye and become a strip artist or something
And luckily the story went the right way
Just get on with it, otherwise I'll forget my name
Ask Roger. No - not a good idea
I can't remember where the idea did come from
(Explosion)
Roger, what did you do?
Good fun. I can make a bigger bang than that dear
Great fun, yeah. But it could have gone the other way
Oh, shit, all that crap again
(Laughter)
