Queen: The Eye

Queen 'Queen The Eye'

This page includes details of all of the tracks which were used in the 5-CD Rom computer game 'Queen: The Eye', released on 3 April 1998, and accompanying releases. The five CD-Roms feature a single data track at the start of the disc, but the remaining tracks are playable in a normal CD player. There are also tracks which are only heard whilst playing the game itself.

For the tracks which are divided into 'main themes' and 'introductions' (eg 'Death On Two Legs', 'One Vision' and 'Was It All Worth It'), I have named the introductions as version 1 and the main theme as version 2, despite the order they may appear in the game.

The English version of the game features two errors which were corrected for the German and Spanish versions. During 'You Don't Fool Me', there is a nasty glitch on the English game, while the disc for The Arena Domain includes 'Liar' twice, but the German and Spanish versions correct this by replacing the second track with Party.

If you fail you mustn't grumble
Thank your lucky stars
Just savour every mouthful

Gimme the prize
Just gimme the prize

Give me your kings
Let me squeeze them in my hands, hey, hey, hey, hey
Your puny princes
Your so-called leaders of your land
I'll eat them whole before I'm done
The battle's fought and the game is won

I am the one, the only one
I am the God of kingdom come
Gimme the prize
Just gimme the prize

Gimme the prize

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha
Now you die

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha

I have something to say
It's better to burn out than to fade away
There can be only one

Gimme the prize
Gimme the prize

Gimme the prize
Gimme the prize
Gimme the prize
Gimme the prize
Gimme the prize

Give, give, give, give gimme the prize, gimme the prize

Move over
I said move over
Hey, hey, hey

Clear the way
There's no escape from my authority
Didn't I tell you
I am the one, the only one
I am the God of kingdom come
Gimme the prize

Lyrics:
Woh, oh, woh, yes

Too much love will kill you
Just as sure as none at all
It'll drain the power that's in you
Make you plead and scream and crawl
And the pain will make you crazy
You're the victim of your crime
Too much love will kill you - every time

Yes, too much love will kill you
It'll make your life a lie
Yes, too much love will kill you
And you won't understand why
You'd give your life, you'd sell your soul
But here it comes again
Too much love will kill you
In the end

In, in, in, in the end

We Will Rock You

Details of the original version can be found on the 'News Of The World' album page.
This track is an instrumental, derived from the introduction to the version on 'Live At Wembley 1986', recorded at Wembley Stadium, London, on 12 July 1986. It features crowd noise dubbed over the top, as well as commentary from one of the characters in the game. As well as the two versions noted here, it is possible that the game was released in other languages, and if so they will undoubtedly have their own versions.

UK Version
This track fades in and out with audience noise, and the dialogue lasts for around 49 seconds. Length 0:57.
German Version
This track has a much shorter fade in and an instant end, with the dialogue lasting for around 32 seconds, and the rest is instrumental. Length 0:58.
UK Version Dialogue:
Welcome to the greatest show on earth, citizens of the hour. Yes, it's that special time again, so without much more ado let's see if our contestant can battle through the Arena and reach the spike. (Unknown dialogue) get the necessary lodestones, unlock the Dias, and rise inside the spike, where you find the final watcher, waiting for you. Defeat him, and freedom is yours. What a prize. So many have tried, and so many have failed. This one thinks he's special. Well we've all heard that before. Before we start, remember the creda, 'we must all see to believe'. Now jack in, place your bets, and let the entertainment begin.

You Don't Fool Me

Details of the original version can be found on the 'Made In Heaven' album page. Length 5:55.
This is a full instrumental version of the album version, retaining only a few backing vocals. At time 1:00 and 2:20 in the album version, it gains extra material, which is similar to the outro of the song but seems to be unique. There is a nasty glitch at around 3:20 on the English game, which was corrected for the German and Spanish versions.

Lyrics:
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh

Oh-ooh

Oh-ooh

Oh-ooh

Oh-ooh

This is a full piano version of the album version, from 0:46 to 3:57, without any vocals, guitars or drums.
