The Top 100 Bootlegs

Queen 'The Top 100 Bootlegs'

The 'Top 100 Bootlegs' was a project which started in 2004, and aimed to make the 100 best Queen bootlegs available officially for the first time, but despite it's name, it was abandoned after only 32 bootlegs, presumably due to poor sales. The sets were available as either MP3 or WMA downloads from the 7Digital Store or QueenOnline shop, but as of September 2010, none of the shows are available to download.

Whilst it was a good idea, the selection of bootlegs is a strange one, as some were hybrids of multiple shows, and some feature content which is available on official releases. The dates and venues shown below have been compiled using other sources as the downloads themselves do not list details for many of the bootlegs. The bootlegs here are ordered chronologically by concert, but the details below are listed alphabetically by title.

Japan has the most released shows with 10, followed by the UK with 8, Germany with 6, Austria with 2, and then a single show each for Canada, Denmark, France, Italy and USA.

The most represented concert is the Hammersmith Odeon in 1975, which appears on three different releases:
Xmas At The Beeb : the most complete version, losing just 'Bring Back That Leroy Brown' and 'Rock 'n' Roll Medley'
Rhapsody In Red : loses 'Rock 'n' Roll Medley', 'Seven Seas Of Rhye' and 'God Save The Queen'
Rogues & Scandals : contains only a few tracks, namely 'White Queen', 'Bring Back That Leroy Brown' and 'Rock 'n' Roll Medley' (although it fades out early)

Between them, these bootlegs offer the complete concert, except 'Rock 'n' Roll Medley', which fades out early.

Disc 2 features the conclusion of the Frankfurt concert (tracks 1-11), and a number of bonus tracks from the Japanese and USA tours, namely, tracks 12-18 from Fukuoka, Japan, 19 October 1982, tracks 19-20 from Sapparo, Japan, 29 October 1982, track 21 ('Life Is Real') from Meadowlands, USA on 9 August 1982, and finally tracks 22-24 from Osaka, Japan, on 24 October 1982. All of the bonus tracks, apart from the two in Sapparo, are available on other bootlegs as part of their full shows.
