Rare Live

Released 21 August 1989.
Running Time 60 mins approx
Recorded at various venues between 1973 and 1986.
Directed by Rudi Dolezal and Hannes Rossacher
Produced by Jim Beach
This is a concert 'in time and space'; it consists of tracks recorded at many different concerts from Queen's career. At the start of each track, a screen is shown, showing the date, venue, attendance, and song title. Audience noise from each track segues into the next to give the impression of it being a single concert. 'I Want It All' includes footage and details of all of the tracks on the video.
It features additional excerpts of Hyde Park (18 September 1976), Concert For Kampuchea (26 December 1979), Montreal (29 August 1980), Tokyo (probably 11 May 1985), Newcastle (9 July 1986), and Budapest (27 July 1986). It also features Fred Mandel (Osaka 1982), Morgan Fisher (Frankfurt 1982) and Spike Edney (Wembley 1986)
All recording dates given below are as they appear in the video, unless they are clearly known to be incorrect. (For example, 'Radio Ga Ga' is stated as being from Sydney, 25 May 1985; however, they did not play there on this date, but they did on the 25 April). However, two tracks are believed to be incorrect as the footage is identical to other tracks released - namely 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love' and 'Hammer To Fall'.

Lyrics:
I want it all, I want it
all, I want it all and I want it now
I want it all (yeah, yeah, yeah), I want it all, I want it all
and I want it now, oh, ooh, ooh
Adventure seeker, on an empty street
Just an alley creeper, light on his feet
A young fighter screaming, with no time for doubt
With the pain and anger, can't see a way out
It ain't much I'm asking, I heard him say
Gotta find me a future, move out of my way
I want it all, I want it all, I want it all and I want it now
I want it all, I want it all, I want it all and I want it now
I want it all (yeah, yeah, yeah), I want it all, I want it all
and I want it now, oh, ooh, ooh
And I want it - now
I want it, I want it
Oooh, hot
Crazy Little
Thing Called Love
Click here for the original song details. Length 4:53
The video states that the track was recorded at the Hankyu
Stadium, Osaka, on 24 October 1982. However, it is virtually
identical to the version on 'Live In Japan' (recorded at
the Seibu Lions Stadium, Tokyo, 3 November 1982). This video is
the same as the original, but has more footage of the rest of the
band and the audience.
Lyrics:
Freddie: OK, ladies and gentlemen,
let's just get crazy
A-this thing, yeah, called love, I just can't handle it
This thing called love I must get round to it
I ain't ready
Crazy little thing called love
This thing (this thing) called love (called love)
It cries (like a baby)
In a cradle all night
It swings (woo, woo)
It jives (woo, woo)
It shakes all over like a jelly fish
I kinda like it
Crazy little thing called love
There goes my baby
She knows how to rock 'n' roll
She drives me crazy
She gives me hot and cold fever
And she leaves me in a cool, cool sweat
I gotta be cool, relax, get hip
And get on my tracks
Take a back seat, hitch hike
Take a long ride on my motorbike
Until I'm ready
Crazy little thing called love
Gotta be cool, relax, come on, get hip
And get on my tracks
Take a back seat, hitch hike
Take a long ride on my motorbike
Until I'm ready (ready Freddie)
Crazy little thing called love
This thing called love I just can't handle it
This thing called love I must get round to it
I ain't ready
Crazy little thing called love
Crazy little thing called love
Crazy little thing called love, mama
Crazy little thing called love, take it, take it, take it
Wooh
Yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Crazy little thing called love
Crazy little thing called love
Crazy little thing called love, mama
Crazy little thing called love, yeah, yeah
Crazy little thing called love, yeah
Ah, crazy little thing called love, alright

This track segues from the 'Singalong'
Recorded at Velez Sarsfield, Beunos Aires, on 8 March 1981, and
at the Stadthalle, Vienna, on 13 May 1982.
The footage from Vienna was later released, in it's entirety, on
the 'Queen
On Fire: Live At The Bowl' DVD.
Lyrics:
Steve walks wearily down the street
Brim pulled way down low
Ain't no sound but the sound of his feet
Machine guns ready to go
Are you ready, hey, are you ready for this
Are you standing on the edge of your seat
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat, hey, yeah, yeah, yeah, sing it
Another one bites the dust, alright
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone, and another one gone
Another one bites the dust
Hey, I'm gonna' get you too
Another one bites the dust
Alright
Shoot out
How do you think I'm gonna get along
Without you when you're gone
You took me for everything that I had
And kicked me out on my own
Are you happy, are you satisfied
How long can you stand the heat
Out of the door way the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Another one bites the dust, yes, ah, what do you say?
Another one bites the dust, ahh
And another one gone, and another one gone
Another one bites the dust
Hey, I'm gonna get you too
Another one bites the dust
Come on, shoot up, shoot up, hey
Ahh, take it
Bite the dust, yeah
Oh, yeah
There's plenty of ways that you can hurt a man
And bring him to the ground
You can beat him, you can cheat him
You can treat him bad and leave him when he's down, yeah
But I'm ready, yes I'm ready for you
I'm standing on my own two feet
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone, and another one gone
Another one bites the dust
Hey, I'm gonna' get you too
Another one bites the dust
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Shoot up
Yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Rock And
Roll Medley
Click here for details of the original tracks. Length 3:32
Recorded at the Hammersmith Odeon, London, on 24 December 1975.
The medley comprises 'Big Spender', 'Jailhouse Rock', 'Stupid
Cupid', 'Be Bop A Lula' and 'Jailhouse Rock' (Reprise).
The version on the video is an edit of the actual performance,
which had additional instrumental sections and additional verses
for both parts of 'Jailhouse Rock'.
Lyrics:
Roger: Alright, merry Christmas and thanks
for a fab year. We're gonna do some rock 'n' roll
The minute you walked in the joint
I could see you were a girl of distinction
A real big spender
Good looking - so refined
Wouldn't you like to know what's going on in my mind
So let me get right to the point
I don't pop my cork for every one I see
Hey, big spender
Spend a little time with me
The warden threw a party in the county jail
Prison band was there and they began to wail
The band was jumpin' and the joint began to swing
You should've heard them knocked out jailbirds sing
Let's rock, everybody, let's rock and roll tonight
Everybody in the hotel block
Dancin' to the jailhouse rock
Number forty-seven said to number three
'You're the cutest jailbird I ever did see'
'Sure would be delighted with your company'
'Come on and do the jailhouse rock with me'
Let's rock, c'mon, everybody, let's rock and roll tonight
Everybody in the hotel block
Dancin' to the jailhouse rock
One more time
Stupid cupid you're a living doll
Ooh, and you can fly
Oooh, it's a crying shame
Stupid cupid, stop playing that game
Hey, hey, set me free
Stupid cupid stop a picking on
Be bop a lula - you're shooting my baby
Be bop a lula - she's driving me crazy
Be bop a lula - I know what you're saying
Be bop a lula - don't a play that game
Ah rock and roll, rock and roll, everybody, oh, oh, oh
Alright, OK, oh
Keep dancing to the jailhouse rock
Dancing to the jailhouse rock
Oh yeah
Everybody in the hotel block
Dancing to the jailhouse rock
Dancing to the jailhouse rock
Yeah, yeah, oh, ah, oh, yeah, nice
We're dancing to the jailhouse rock
My Melancholy
Blues
Click here for the original song details. Length 2:48
Recorded at The Sam, Houston, Texas, on 11 December 1977.
This is an edited version of the proper live track - the full
version was released as an extra track
on 'The Miracle' 12" and CD singles.
Lyrics:
Freddie: OK, um, we'd like to try out
something very different right now. This is from the new album,
er, the news, the 'News Of The World'. Have you got it yet, the
album that is? OK, you might just a, just about recognise this
one, this is called 'My Melancholy Blues'
Another party's over
And I'm left cold sober
My baby left me for somebody new, oooh, oooh
I don't wanna talk about it
Want to forget about it
I'm intoxicated with that special brew
So come and get me
Let me
Get in that sinking feeling
That says my heart is on an all time low, so
Don't expect me
To behave perfectly
And wear that sunny smile
My guess is I'm in for a cloudy and overcast
Don't try and stop me
'Cos I'm heading for that stormy weather soon
I'm causing a mild sensation
With this new occupation
I'm in the news
I'm just getting used to my new exposure
So come into my enclosure
And meet my
Melancholy blues
Hammer To Fall
Click here for the original song details. Length 5:14
The video says that it was recorded at Wembley Stadium, London,
on 11 July 1986. However, the audio and video footage seems
identical to the performance from the day after, which appears on
the 'Live At Wembley Stadium' DVD.
Lyrics:
Freddie: Hammer To Fall
Hey
Here we stand, here we fall
History don't care at all
Make the bed, light the light
Lady Mercy won't be home tonight
You don't waste no time at all
Don't hear the bell but you answer the call
Comes to you as to us all
Then it's time for the hammer to fall
Every night, every day
A little piece of you is falling away
Lift your face, the western way, baby
Build your muscles till your body decays
Toe your line and play their game
Till the anaesthetic covers it all
Till one day they call your name
Then it's time for the hammer to fall
Rich or poor or famous for
Your truth it's all the same (oh no) oh no (oh no)
Lock your door 'cos rain is pouring
Through your window pane (oh no)
Baby now your struggle's all in vain
Yeah, yeah
He who grew up tall and proud
In the shadow of the mushroom cloud
Convinced our voices can't be heard
We just want to scream it louder and louder and louder
What the hell we fighting for?
Just surrender and it won't hurt at all
Just got time to say your prayers
Then it's time for the hammer to, hammer to fall
Yeah, yeah
Oooh, ooohh, oh
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Hot, hot
Yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Waiting for the hammer to, hammer to,
hammer to fall
Give it to me one more time

Lyrics:
Brian: Do you like the gimmicks? OK, we're gonna have
a little fun, we're gonna do something which we call a medley, we
hope this is gonna bring back some memories for you. It begins
thus
She keeps a Moet Et Chandon
In her pretty cabinet
'Let them eat cake' she says
Just like Marie Antoinette
A built-in remedy
For Kruschev and Kennedy
At anytime an invitation you can't decline
Caviar and cigarettes
Well versed in etiquette
Extraordinarily nice
She's a killer queen
Gunpowder, gelatine
Dynamite with a laser beam
Guaranteed to blow your mind
Anytime
Recommended at the price
Insatiable an appetite
Wanna try?
Avoid complications
She never kept the same address
In conversation
She spoke just like a baroness
Met a man from China
Went down to Geisha Minah
Then again incidentally
If you're that way inclined
Perfume came naturally from Paris
For cars she couldn't care less
Fastidious and precise
She's a killer queen
Gunpowder, gelatine
Dynamite with a laser beam
Guaranteed to blow your mind
Anytime
Recommended at the price
Insatiable an appetite
Wanna try?

Can barely stand on my feet
Take a look in the mirror and cry
Lord what you doing to me
I have spent all my years in believing you
I just can't get no relief, Lord
Somebody (somebody), somebody (somebody)
Anybody find me somebody to love
I work hard (he works hard) every day of my bloody life
I work till I ache my bones
At the end (at the end of the day)
I take home my hard earned pay all on my own (goes home on his

I go down on my knees
And I start to pray
Till the tears run down from my eyes, Lord
I've just gotta be free
Free I tell you
Find me somebody to love
Find me somebody to love
Find me somebody to love
Find me somebody to love
Find me somebody to love
Find me somebody to love

Oooh, yeah
Come on
Get your party gown
Get your pigtail down
Get your heart beating, baby
Got your timing right
Got your act all tight
It's gotta be tonight my little schoolbabe
Mamma says you don't
Daddy says you won't
And I'm bottling up inside
Ain't no way I'm gonna lose out this time, yeah, come on
Tie your mother down
Tie your mother down
Lock your daddy out of doors
I don't need him nosing around
Tie your mother down
Tie your mother down
She ain't no friend tonight
You're such a dirty louse
Go get out of my house
That's all I ever get from you
And your family ties, in fact I never heard
A single little civil word from you guys
But you know I don't give a light
I'm gonna make out all right
Got a sweetheart hand
Put a stop to all that
Let me hear it
Tie your mother down
Tie your mother down
Big, big, big, big, big, big daddy out of doors
Tie your mother down
Tie your mother down
Give me all your love tonight
All your love tonight
Give it to me, over here
All your love tonight
Everybody
All your love tonight

Recorded at the Hammersmith Odeon, London, 24 December 1975 and
at the Yogishi Auditorium, Tokyo, 11 May 1985. The two tracks are

Lyrics:
Freddie: Thank you very much. Featuring Brian May on the guitar.
OK, now, now it's time to join in, everybody, and you can sing
along on the choruses. Give us a helping hand you can take all
your clothes off.
Come on, alright
Ooh yeah, everybody
Yes
What about you on the balcony? Are you with us?
Everybody at home?
Yeah
Keep yourself alive
Keep yourself alive
Yeah, let's go
I was told a million times of all the troubles in my way
Might he grow a little wiser, little better every day
But if I crossed a million rivers, rode a million miles
Still be where I started, bread and butter for a smile
Sold a million mirrors in a shop in alley way
But I never saw my face in any window any day
They say your folks are telling you be a superstar
Tell you just be satisfied, stay right where you are
Keep yourself alive, keep yourself alive
All you people keep yourself alive
Come on
Let me see you
Well I loved a million women in a belladonic haze
And I ate a million dinners brought to me on silver trays
Give me everything I need to feed my body and my soul
Grow a little bigger, maybe that can be my goal
Told a million times of all the people in my way
How I'd have to keep on trying and get better every day
If I crossed a million rivers, rode a million miles
Still be where I started, same as when I started
Keep yourself alive, keep yourself alive
All you people keep yourself alive
Keep yourself alive, keep yourself alive
All you people keep yourself alive

Lyrics:
Freddie: Do you like my claws? They're real diamonds. It's a
present from the devil himself. You don't believe me, they don't
believe me. Right, now, we'd like to do some rock 'n' roll, a la
Queen. Tell you what, this is a number from the Sheer Heart
Attack album, 'Stone Cold Crazy'.
Sleeping very soundly on a Saturday morning
I was dreaming I was Al Capone
There's a rumour going round, gotta clear outta town
Yeah, I'm smelling like a dry fish bone
Here come the law, gonna break down the door, gonna carry me away
once more
Never, I never, I never get it any more
Gotta get away from this stone cold floor
Crazy
Stone cold crazy, you know
Ow
Rainy afternoon I gotta blow a typhoon and I'm playing on my
slide trombone
Anymore, anymore, cannot take it anymore
Gotta get away from this stone cold floor
Crazy
Stone cold crazy, you know
Watch-a
Walking down the street, shooting people that I meet
With my rubber tommy water gun
Here come the deputy, he's gonna come and getta me
I gotta get me get up and run
They got the sirens loose
I ran right outta juice
They're gonna put me in a cell, if you can't go to heaven
Will they let me go to hell

Lyrics:
I'd sit alone and watch your light
My only friend through teenage nights
And everything I had to know
I heard it on my radio
(Radio)
You gave them all those old time stars
Through wars of worlds invaded by Mars
You made 'em laugh, you made 'em cry
You made us feel like we could fly
(Radio)
So don't become some background noise
A backdrop for the girls and boys
Who just don't know or just don't care
And just complain when you're not there
Had your time, you had the power
You've yet to have your finest hour
Radio (radio)
All we hear is radio ga ga
Radio goo goo, radio ga ga
All we hear is radio ga ga
Radio goo goo, radio ga ga
All we hear is radio ga ga
Radio goo goo, radio ga ga
All we hear is radio ga ga
Radio goo goo, radio ga ga
All we hear is radio ga ga
Radio ga ga
Radio what's knew?
Radio, someone still loves you
Loves you

This version is shorter than normal, partly because an amplifier
exploded (which can be heard at the end).
Recorded at Earl's Court, London, on 6 June 1977.

Tribute Concert'
Lyrics:
Freddie: OK, before we ah, tease you with a bit of, sort of,
heavy rock and roll things towards the end, ah, I'd just like to
slip in a little a, well I'd like you to listen carefully to a
simple little song this, is me on the piano, it's called 'You
Take My Breath Away'
Look into my eyes and you'll see
I am the only one
You've captured my heart
Stolen my love
Changed my life
Everytime you make a move
You destroy my mind
And the way you touch
I lose control and shiver deep inside
You take my breath away
You can reduce me to tears
With a single sigh
Every breath that you take
Any sound that you make
Is a whisper in my ear
Sheer Heart
Attack
