The Top 100 Bootlegs

The 'Top 100 Bootlegs Bootlegged' is a project to hit back at the bootleggers who have illegally been selling Queen music over the years. The project aims to make the best bootlegs around - in terms of sound quality and interest of material - available on mass at reasonable prices.

The bootlegs were selected by three acknowledged experts - Frank Hazenberg, Andreas Voigts and Frank Palstra, and are available from http://www.7digital.com/stores/listing.aspx?shop=14

At current I have been unable to listen to some of the bootlegs to check the exact track listing and times; the details for these bootlegs are as they appear on the download pages (and in many cases are obviously incorrect). The dates and venues have been compiled using other sources as the website does not list details for many of the bootlegs.

The bootlegs here are ordered chronologically by concert, but the details below are listed alphabetically by title. Essentially there are four types of bootleg:

Bootlegs featuring material from one concert only, in (approximate) true running order:

Bootlegs featuring material from one concert only, in a jumbled up running order:

Bootlegs featuring mostly material from one concert, but with tracks from other concerts as bonus tracks:

Bootlegs featuring material from two or more concerts, edited together to give the impression of one concert:

Tour Analysis
The list below shows the number of bootlegs which include material from each tour: (this is not neccessarily the number of different shows on each tour, as some shows appear on more than one bootleg):

The only material which comes from other sources is the the 1977 BBC session on Rhapsody In Red.

Country Analysis
The list below shows the number of bootlegs which include material from each country: (this is not neccessarily the number of shows from each country, as some shows appear on more than one bootleg):

This list includes 'Cry Argentina' as a Canadian bootleg, although it includes some bonus tracks from the England. It also excludes the bootleg 'Cadiac Arrest' which includes material from both Japanese and English concerts.

Most Represented Concert
At current, the most represented show is the 1975 Hammersmith Odeon concert, which is featured on three bootlegs:

Between them, these bootlegs offer the complete concert, except 'Rock 'n' Roll Medley' which fades out early
