Return Of The
Champions
(Also as available as a double
album)
Released 31 October 2005.
The reverse of the DVD sleeve has a list of credits which differs to those listed in the film, so presumably those on the sleeve apply for the whole package and those in the film are for just the Sheffield concert:
Executive Producers: Brian May, Roger
Taylor, Paul Rodgers
DVD Producers: Simon Lupton and Rhys Thomas
Directors: David Mallet (Sheffield) and Aubrey 'Po' Powell (Hyde
Park)
Sheffield Producers: Jim Beach and Rocky Oldham
Audio produced for DVD by Justin Shirley-Smith and Joshua J
Macrae
Audio available as Stereo or 5.1 Surround Sound. For the Surround Sound, the music and vocals are more prominent through the front speakers than the rear, but there do not seem to be any other changes.
The main menu features an edit of 'It's A Beautiful Day', and allows you to play the entire concert, select a song, use the Queen Jukebox (which allows you to select upto 5 tracks to play), play 'Imagine' or change audio. The concert itself is arranged into 28 chapters, these are:
All of the lyrics to the concert are found on the original album page.
The titles are shown over the first verse of 'Reaching Out', whilst the credits are shown over 'It's A Beautiful Day' and also feature short highlights from the concert. The CD release is virtually identical to the DVD release, the only differences are that it adds 'It's A Beautiful Day' for the credits, and the amount of audience noise between songs is different in some places (most noticeably before/after 'Say It's Not True').
The DVD itself is arranged into 30 titles. The first is the actual concert, titles 2-28 are used for the Queen Jukebox, 29 is used by the menus, and 30 is 'Imagine'. The Jukebox tracks are basically the same as the main concert tracks, but trim some audience noise and in some cases start at slightly different places (to accomodate introductory dialogue).
'Bohemian Rhapsody' features footage of Freddie from 'Live At Wembley'. Although some of the footage is the same, here it concentrates exclusively on Freddie, so shots of the audience, Brian and Roger are not present.
Imagine
Click here for the original track details. Song Length 3:25
This John Lennon track is taken from the 15 July 2005 Hyde Park
show, and was performed as a tribute to the victims of the 7 July
terrorist attacks.
The first verse is sung by Brian, the second by Roger, and the
rest by Paul.
Lyrics:
Brian: I find myself
kind of lost for words. Um, we've decided we'd like to do
something special for this particular night, 'cos a lot of things
have changed, a lot of stuff is happening, um, and rather than
words, we would like to sing you a song written by probably the
greatest rock star of all time, next to Freddie.
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living life for today, I-I
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
No religion too, yeah
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace, you-ooh
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I am not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will live as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
Or brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world, you-ooh
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I am not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will live as one
